It's about time!

Hello to my loyal followers,

Thank you for letting me know you still keep popping back to see if I have posted anything new on my blog. I do have legitimate excuses, but you don't want to hear them, I'm sure!

I have been wonderfully busy with workshops and classes. I have an amazing circle of friends that I have been sharing Stampin' Up! since my Blog world absence. I have also created a Facebook page so now I really do need to get on top of things and keep up with my social media outlets.

Last week I needed a special birthday card for my girlfriend who makes beautiful children's clothes, especially dresses for little girls. I keep asking when she is going to take orders for grown up girls clothes, and she keeps laughing at me. So I made her a "dress" card the only way I know how - using Stampin' Up! products of course! I love Tempting Turquoise and Real Red at the moment. So along with the Manahttan Flower Embossing folder, Scallop Trim Border punch, Printed Petals stamp set, Itty Bitty punch pack and some Rhinestone basic jewels, I had everything I needed. And the best part, when my girlfriend opened the card, she said "You made me a dress!"

Summer Days

I trust you all had a lovely Christmas with special time spent with your loved ones. I can't believe we are already 4 weeks into the new year and am excited about spending a lot more time in the creativity department. My craft room has had a much needed tidy up and I can't wait to spend every spare minute I have in there.

I had the pleasure of my first Scrapbooking Party the week before Christmas. I was asked to do a beach layout with blue as the preferred colour scheme. The party was for a 13th Birthday, with 5 teenage girls in attendance. I was quite nervous about the whole thing and my mind was in over-drive with layout ideas. Hence the craft room looked like a cyclone had been through it by the time I had pulled out every Stampin' Up! item I owned in an attempt to come up with something that would please my target audience, knowing that some of them had not stamped or scrapped before. As I am mother to 2 boys, I also wanted a layout that was not gender biased.

I had a wonderful time at the party and the girls were really pleased with the layout. They chatted and created 5 gorgeous pages, each with totally different beach themed photos that all went beautifully with the layout they had to work with.

These photos were taken of Cooper when he was 14 months old. It was his first time at the beach and despite the inclement weather that closed in, he still enjoyed exploring the seashore.
